Globalstor GSTDDS-4

Proven Technology
DDS-4 is the 4th generation of DDS products from Globalstor Data. DDS-4 has all the benefits of previous DDS products, with improved features to increase your storage value. All your previous archived DDS data is now even more accessible with read and write backward capability from the GSTDDS-3 family of tape drives.

Safe-Super Air Flow Environment
Incorporated in all Globalstor Data’s GSTDDS-4 tape drives is the Super Air Flow Environment (SAFE). The SAFE design directs external airflow outside the drive and also efficiently vents the tape path area, dramatically improving dust-prevention and cooling. The SAFE design, in conjunction with the patented Head Cleaning mechanism prevents particle accumulation on the heads to minimize read/write errors, ensuring your data will be accessible when you need it.

Capacity And Performance
With 20 GB of native capacity, DDS-4 is the perfect solution for the growing Windows NT® and Unix® platform requirements. The transfer speed of DDS-4 has been doubled from Globalstor Data’s DDS-3 family of product to 2.4 MB/s, providing a typical back-up rate of 8.64 GB per hour. Data flow with Globalstor Data’s DDS-4 drive is further enhanced with the Look Aside buffer management design. A total combined buffer memory of 10 MB allows data to stream faster and compress quicker to keep up with your growing storage requirements.

Reliability You Can Count On
Data integrity and recovery are assured with years of technical refinement built into the Globalstor GSTDDS-4. The superior Hyper Metal™ Laminate Head technology, combined with an increased Mean Time Between Failure rate of 250,000 power on hours, provides your data the proven reliability that you can count on!
