Globalstor Demonstrates Turnkey Video Archive and Back-up Solution Using InfinAttach DR and R2X at NAB

Revolutionary NAS Ends "Pay-Per-Slot" Software Charges

LAS VEGAS, NV April 8, 2002:

Globalstor Data Corporation will demonstrate its’ revolutionary InfinAttach DR (Disaster Recovery) solution packaged in a InfinAttach R2X, 1U Dual server board rack mount chassis at the NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) convention in Las Vegas this week.  The innovative NAS (Network Attached Storage) server combines fast data back-ups and recovery, with cost efficient multiple storage device connectivity.  At their booth (#S6572), the InfinAttach R2X will be configured with two server boards, one set up with jukebox management software, the other with back-up software.  Each board will then be connected to a DVD library and a tape library respectively for a complete, turnkey video archival and back-up solution.

In addition to providing broadcast and a broad range of other environments with exceptional application flexibility to any storage network, the InfinAttach DR puts an end to the "pay-per-slot" software support mentality saving organizations as much as $100,000 in slot licensing and additional server fees.

"Because video archival can be costly, broadcaster don’t always add storage capacity to their servers in advance of need," said Scott Leif, President of Globalstor Data Corp.  "The InfinAttach DR is easy to deploy, scale and manage, providing the added benefits of complete data backup and recovery.  But the real key to the InfinAttach DR is that you’ll never pay another cent in software licensing fees."

This standards-based solution achieves breakthrough economics without sacrificing performance or reliability.  In the event of a power failure or other catastrophic event, Globalstor’s InfinAttach DR automatically restarts and performs a full system configuration, restoring the system within minutes.  Embedded NT assures unlimited client access as well as complete remote management capability using Microsoft’s NetMeeting.  Additional remote management capability for UNIX users is also included. For ease-of-use, the solution incorporates a centralized, remote administration with a standardized interface so there is no need to learn new software across multiple platforms. The easy to use software provides a standardized interface to virtually eliminate the learning curve typically associated with mixed networks.

Incorporating the latest in Backup management software, InfinAttach DR is a complete, enterprise-wide network backup solution with full Windows 9x/Me/NT/2000/XP, Linux, NetWare and Unix support. InfinAttach DR features automated backup and verification, as well as remote administration and multi-level object-based security.  The server includes a 100GB hard drive, a Pentium III 900 CPU, 256MB RAM, dual 10/100 Network interface and pre-loaded library management software.  For added value, InfinAttach DR has two expansion slots, which are completely field upgradable and capable of boosting support up to as many as 90 SCSI devices.  The additional slots can also be used for Fibre Channel support and/or a Gigabit Ethernet card.  RAID volume users can maximize the system with 30 5TB RAID volumes and still add a gigabit or a dual gigabit controller in the secondary slot.

Globalstor Data’s InfinAttach DR and InfinAttach R2X will be demonstrated at Globalstor’s Booth #S6572during NAB April 8th through 11th, 2002, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Pricing and Availability

Available for direct sale through Globalstor Data or to OEMs for development into specific applications, InfinAttach DR pricing starts at $8,322.  InfinAttach R2X prices start at $15,422.  The InfinAttach DR and R2X are now shipping with a two-year factory warranty.
