Globalstor Unveils InfinAttach PD Remote Access Video Security System at NAB

Provides Motion-Triggered Recording and the End of Per-Slot Software Licensing Fees

LAS VEGAS, NV April 8, 2002:

Globalstor Data Corporation, a leading provider of high-end mass storage solutions, will revolutionize video security at the NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) convention in Las Vegas this week when they unveil the new InfinAttach PD (Private Detective).  An innovative NAS (Network Attached Storage) solution, the InfinAttach PD can handle up to eight separate video inputs, automatically encodes captured video in MPEG 4 format.  This innovative solution includes jukebox management software for archival to any standard media, and provides scaleability to as many as 60 SCSI devices with no "pay-per-slot" software license charges.

At their booth (#S6572), Globalstor will demonstrate this new system using four standard surveillance digital video cameras, an Internet connection and the InfinAttach PD connected to a jukebox.  Another four cameras will be set up at the company’s headquarters in Chatsworth, CA.  Using a simple web-based GUI and an Internet connection, visitors to the booth can access live feed from any of the eight cameras.  Triggered by motion and using the MPEG 4 encoder combined with the jukebox management software, the video feed is automatically recorded to the libraries.  As a result, the InfinAttach PD not only saves organizations as much as $100,000 in slot licensing and additional server fees records motion, but it can also save them several thousands in editing and archival costs by not recording "empty" environments.

"Security has never been more important and video surveillance is a vital, but very costly part of most organizations’ security plans," said Scott Leif, President of Globalstor Data Corp.  "The InfinAttach PD is economical, easy to deploy, scale and manage, and provides several cost-saving benefits including motion-triggered recording and the end of per-slot software licensing fees."

Embedded Windows 2000 assures client access as well as complete remote management capability using Globalstors Remote Management Software.  Additional remote management capability for UNIX users is also included. For ease-of-use, the solution incorporates a centralized, remote administration with a standardized interface so there is no need to learn new software across multiple platforms. The easy to use software provides a standardized interface to virtually eliminate the learning curve typically associated with mixed networks. InfinAttach PD includes a 100GB hard drive, a Pentium III 900 (minimum) CPU, 256MB RAM, dual 10/100 Network interface, a 4 channel MPEG 4 surveillance encoder and pre-loaded library management software.

For added value, InfinAttach PD has one expansion slot, which is completely field upgradable and capable of boosting support up to as many as 60 SCSI devices.  The additional slots can also be used for Fibre Channel support and/or a Gigabit Ethernet card or another 4 port encoder.  RAID volume users can maximize the system with 30 5TB RAID volumes and still add a gigabit or a dual gigabit controller in the secondary slot.

Globalstor Data’s InfinAttach PD will be demonstrated at Globalstor’s Booth #S6572during NAB April 8th through 11th, 2002, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Pricing and Availability

Available for direct sale through Globalstor Data or to OEMs for development into specific applications, InfinAttach PD has an MSRP of only $8,322.  The InfinAttach PD is now shipping with a two-year factory warranty.
