Globalstor Launches Affordable, High Performance DVD Video Transfer System at NAB

Turnkey Solution Enables Users to Remotely Support Unlimited Devices with One Computer

LAS VEGAS, NV April 8, 2002:

Expanding their support for a broad range of digital video applications, Globalstor Data Corporation launched today the DVD TransPro, the company’s first DVD Video Transfer System at NAB.  DVD TransPro combines MPEG-2 encoding, direct video transfer software, and fast throughput enabling users to convert content from VHS, Beta or any other video or film format, directly to DVD-R in broadcast quality formats.  Incorporating the solutions’ easy-to-use remote management software, one computer can control virtually unlimited video transfer systems (limited only by IP addresses).

With NTSC and PAL compatible solutions starting at $9,000, Globalstor’s DVD TransPro includes a Pentium 900 CPU with 256MB RAM running Windows 2000 Pro and wide range of encoders for direct-to-DVD transfer with support for everything from S-video component video, SDI video sources, DolbyÒ Digital (AC3), and deck control.  The solutions also include a broadcast quality an IDE-based 100GB hard drive and a DVD-R drive ensuring high performance, quick project turnaround as well as the ease-of-use and application flexibility necessary to satisfy the video novice as well as the professional.  An optional touch screen monitor can be added.

"With DVD TransPro, we’re able to offer a truly economical video production tool without compromising performance or reliability," said Scott Leif, President of Globalstor Data Corp.  "It seamlessly blends the creative and performance features that today’s high-end users demand, without being so complex or cost-prohibitive that a mid-range corporation couldn’t integrate it into their video requirements.  DVD TransPro is the ideal solution for any application where it has become necessary to transfer content from deteriorating video tape, onto DVD."

With the ability to remotely record multiple input sources and automatically add multiple chapter marks to each content segment, DVD TransPro greatly reduces production time and expenses providing users with a greater return-on-investment.  With features generally reserved for "high-end" solutions, the new video transfer system is priced to meet the budget challenges of today’s market without sacrificing scalability for the future.

Globalstor’s DVD TransPro is ideally suited for a broad range of environments including: government, military, medical, schools and film houses for applications such as content preservation and distribution, medical image generation, and video archival.

Globalstor Data’s DVD TransPro will be demonstrated at Globalstor’s Booth #S6572during NAB April 8th through 11th, 2002, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
