Globalstor Data introduced the ExtremeStor-VS Video Server today. A low-cost, high-performance fault-tolerant video storage server, the ExtremeStor-VS incorporates 24, 250GB hot-swappable SATA hard drives for up to 6TB of local storage or 24, 400GB hot-swappable SATA hard drives for up to 9.6TB. Using RAID 0, the ExtremeStor-VS is capable of achieving in excess of 1000MB/sec. sustained raw performance, or in excess of 600MB/sec using RAID 5.
The ExtremeStor-VS Video Server can be easily customized according to the proprietary requirements of the application or environment with the addition of an HD card and virtually any third party software.

Available for direct sale through Globalstor Data or to OEMs for development into specific applications, ExtremeStor-VS is available now with three-year factory warranties. FibreStor-DI prices start at $40,000 for 2.1TB using (30) 73GB 15K HDDs or $44,000 for 4.41TB using (30) 146GB 10K HDDs or $62,000 for 9.0 TB using (30) 300GB 10 HDDs.
