Globalstor Data Corporation today announced the ExtremeStor-DI PRO.  This latest generation of real time 2K capture and playback solutions, will ship with the added value of a free Bluefish444 upgrade.  Offering professional colorists and postproduction facilities the opportunity to invest in one of the industry’s highest quality digital intermediate solutions ExtremeStor-DI PRO will ship with the Bluefish444 HD|Lust capture card ensuring the highest 10 bit uncompressed quality available today, while protecting the investments of early adopters by offering a free upgrade to the next generation Bluefish444 Catalyst 2K/HD/SD Analog/SDI capture card at no additional cost.

A complete Digital Intermediate solution, ExtremeStor-DI PRO provides up to 900MB/sec. sustained performance using 16 Ultra320 drives Running RAID 0, and offers scaleable capacities up to 4.8TB (using 300 GB drives).  Integrating the latest NVIDIA PCI Express Professional Graphics card with optional HDSDI Outputs, the standard version of the ExtremeStor-DI PRO features Dual Gigabit Ethernet, 3 GB DDR2 RAM, Bluefish444 HD LUST card, Windows XP, Optional Fire Wire 800 and Optional Fibre Channel interfaces on a Dual Xeon server.  For truly demanding environments, Dual Core AMD Opteron configurations are also available.

The featured Bluefish444 HD|Lust card offers a rare ability to capture uncompressed HD directly to the industry trusted Cineon file standard; allowing users to retain all of the original film information during the Digital Intermediate processes. The card offers a 10 bit uncompressed Dual Link and Single Link multi format I\O solution, supporting real time input and output of full band width uncompressed SDTV and HDTV video in 10 bit and 8 bit RGB 4:4:4, 10 bit and 8 bit YUV 4:2:2, 8 bit RGB 4:4:4:4 data streams.  Bluefish444 HD|Lust also offers 8 channels of AES/EBU/SPDIF digital audio and real time broadcast quality HD to SD down conversion.

The up coming Bluefish444 Catalyst 2K capture card is a 12/10 bit uncompressed 2K Dual Link and Single Link solution with support for HSDL, HD and SD I/O formats.  The new cards will also offer VGA/Component analog monitoring and independent simultaneous dual inputs and outputs.   Bluefish444 Catalyst will offer up to eight channels of SPDIF and six channels of AES/EBU XLR digital audio I/O, as well as 16 channels of embedded digital audio I/O for a broad range of sound and support multiple file formats including DPX, Cineon, SGI, TGA, Tiff, AVI, WMV and QuickTime.
