Magneto Optical Rewritable Media Technology

Magneto Optical, or MO, is a rewritable media technology which uses a patented
combination of magnetic and laser technologies to read and write data on a
removable disk. A laser beam heats bits on the disk’s magnetic layer to write
data. The data is then read by a sensor detecting the rotation of the laser
beam as it reflects off the surface of the disk.

Globalstor Supports Direct Over Write Technology

The GS series optical disk drives support the latest advancement in optical
storage technology – LIMDOW (Light Intensity Modulation Direct Overwrite)
media. Traditional MO drives write data to optical media in two passes: one to
erase, another to write. Over Write enables the GS 2600 to write data to
optical media in a single pass, thereby providing write performance twice that
of traditional MO drives.

The Globalstor GS 5200 accepts any ISO compatible 5.2GB, 4.8GB, 4.1GB, 2.6GB,
1.3GB, 1.0GB or 650MB in either the 2048K, 1024K, or 512K Bytes/sector
media. The Globalstor GS 2600 accepts any ISO compatible 2.6GB, 1.3GB,
1.0GB or 650MB in either the 1024K or 512K Bytes/sector media. Both
drives will work with your existing 5.25 inch optical media, as well as CCW
